where is documentation or a faq?

hello,
first off, i know next to nothing about vpn and networking in general. i do
however, need to vpn into my work's lan. i got that part working with the
vpn-connect script, but the problem is
1) i can no longer access the internet once the vpn connection is made
2) i can't use human readable names, i have to use numeric ip addresses to
reach computers on my work's network.

after poking around some on the internet, i think i need "split tunneling"
and "split dns". how do i enable these options when using vpnc?

thanks for the help.

"split tunneling" is done via appropriating routing.
"split dns" can be done via using dnsmasq.

sorry, but nothing of these is setup automatically with vpnc...
