vncconfig: X Error of failed request: BadLength (poly request too large or internal

vncconfig gives me the following error (on ubuntu). Could somebody let
me know what the problem is? How to fix it?
$ vncconfig
X Error of failed request: BadLength (poly request too large or
internal Xlib length error)
