No supported security types (XP Home)

Hello,
I'm running the Free version of Real VNC. Attempting to connect to my work box (XP Pro) from my home box (XP Home) over a Hamachi connection.

I'm getting an error, "No supported security types. Do you wish to attempt to reconnect to..."

Running the Viewer in Consol mode, I get the following output:

VNC Viewer Free Edition - VNC Viewer Free Edition for Win32, Version 4.1.1
Built on Mar 11 2005 at 14:28:58
Copyright ⌐ RealVNC Ltd. 2002-2005

Tue Sep 19 18:54:44 2006
CConnection: reading protocol version
CConnection: Server supports RFB protocol version 3.8
CConnection: Using RFB protocol version 3.8
CConnection: processing security types message
Press Enter/Return key to continue

Via Hamachi, I can ping the machine I'm trying to connect to and browse via WinExplorer.

Any help as to what setting I need to change is greatly appreciated.

RE: No supported security types (XP Home) [In reply to]

You're attempting to use VNC Viewer Free Edition to connect to a VNC server
that doesn't support any of the authentication methods that the viewer can
cope with.

Cheers,

Wez @ RealVNC Ltd.

RE: No supported security types (XP Home) [In reply to]

In that case, you're not connecting to the server you installed, but to some other server. Also, bear in mind that you should upgrade to 4.1.2 to avoid the security vulnerability in 4.1.1

Regards,

Wez @ RealVNC Ltd.
