CAN'T CONFIGURE ADSL CONNECTION!!

I have an ADSL connection via router. How do I access my computer using the
web. When I had a cable connection with fixed IP address I simply typed on a
browser window http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:5800 , but now when I type my computers
IP address I get and error. Am I using the correct address? The ADSL
configuration window has so many numbers!...

Go to http://myipaddress.com/
The address it shows you is the one you need to use.

I would suggest you try obtaining the IP by using http://whatismyip.com.
This will be the Internet ip you are using. I ran into a problem with a
friend who changed ISPs and could not be reached with the IP that was being
assigned. You may need to get a routable ip address from your ISP.
You can contact your ISP and they should be able to tell you if your IP is
routable.

Christiano:

Heya. Try looking thru this FAQ answer here:

http://faq.gotomyvnc.com/fom-serve/cache/127.html

That describes a user's experience using a cable-modem
and a router, but it should be the same for you.

cheers,
Scott
