New description:

In short: without purge; in vcl_pass, hitpass objects become an issue.

Longer: We currently offer purge; in vcl_hit and vcl_miss, but NOT in
vcl_pass. This means that we can not purge hitpass objects, since a
hitpass object would take us through vcl_pass. This is also why we've
discussed using 'return (purge);' or similar semantics in vcl_lookup
instead.

During bugwash today semantics for this was discussed.

Proposal of having a 'do_purge' flag available for setting in 'vcl_recv'.
This flag will cause any lookups done on this request to become purges
instead. This way also hit_pass-objects would be affected.

This work should perhaps be done together with the propsoed soft-purge
work, and the soft-purge functionality follow a similar structure. Handing
to scn as he has been working on the soft-purge functionality.
