Trac with Git

Hi. I am a new user, obviously.

I managed to get Trac 0.12 working with git on Ubuntu 12.04 -- no thanks to
Canonical's packages I might add.

I have two questions today.

First, is the Packt book (Trac and Subversion) really the only
English-language book on Trac?

Second, my project directory looks like this:

drwxr-xr-x 2 mundi mundi 4096 Jul 21 19:12 plugins
-rw-r--r-- 1 mundi mundi 297 Jul 21 19:50 README <-- part of my project
drwxr-xr-x 2 mundi mundi 4096 Jul 21 19:12 templates
-rw-r--r-- 1 mundi mundi 27 Jul 21 19:12 VERSION

This means that I will need to add a lot of Trac-related paths to my
.gitignore. Instead, will Trac let me put the git repo outside the Trac
project directory?

Yes, you don't have to mix your repository and your Trac environment
like that. Just move all your Git repository related files elsewhere in
its own directory and adjust Trac's repository directory path setting.
(E.g. in Trac's "Admin" tab, "Repositories" section.)

Ah yes, I see I am missing the admin tab. I guess I gave to get auth
working. Thanks.
