BASE64 encoding of SRS hash may not work with some mail servers

On 05-May-04 I wrote (to spf-discuss [at] v2): > I have found out so far that the only characters in email addresses > accepted by all mail servers are: > letters, digits, '_', '+', '-', '*', '='. That is not true as I have found out in the mean-time. For example mail.cgd.vic.gov.au does not accept '+' or '=' in the envelope sender and another mail server does not accept '*'.
