ANNOUNCE: Mail::SRS version 0.29
|
|
There is a new version of Mail::SRS. Will all package maintainers please update to this new release, since it includes a protocol change. Changes in this version include: * Cryptographic protection of SRS1. * exim ruleset (untested, will someone please look?) * gentoo script for srsd (untested, will someone please look?) This release is a protocol change for SRS1. It is strongly recommended that all installations upgrade to this version as soon as possible. A configuration parameter "AllowUnsafeSrs" has been provided to allow backwards compatibility with old SRS1 addresses. This should be set for MaxAge+1 days by all deployments which have generated SRS1 addresses in the field to ensure no break in service. It is recommended that all public forwarding hosts (those on which a potential spammer may set up a forwarding address pointing to himself) prepare to use the database mechanism (preferably from version 0.30, which will introduce many new features and fixes to this now essential mechanism). Version 0.30 is expected in the next couple of days. Thanks. S. -- Shevek http://www.anarres.org/ I am the Borg. http://www.gothnicity.org/
