Some SPF questions...

Hi Everyone:

Just some quick SPF questions.

1. What's the deal with so many domains using "~all" instead of "-all"?
To me, they're basically throwing the ball back in your court to decide if
any messages you receive with a sender in their address space is valid or
not. Which leads me to the next question..

2. What does your e-mail gateway do with incoming messages that
"SoftFail" an SPF check? I've configured my gateway (MailMarshal) to
automatically send such messages to a special folder, if the sender is not a
whitelist. Once a message is released from that folder, I've got another
rule in MailMarshal that updates the whitelist with the sender's address, so
subsequent messages from that sender are accepted without delay.
