No SPF record found?

I was looking at the SPF test tools on the site and after running one it stated no SPF record found and then right below it, it stated SPF record is

Found v=spf1 record for tdehan.com
v=spf1 a -all

I run multiple domain emails from one server with the sampe IP address. For example:

mail.tdehan.com
mail.dehancomputerservices.com
mail.totallysoundfitness.com

All of the email domains I host have an SPF record that matches the one for tdehan.com:

v=spf1 a -all

Is this the best way to have the SPF records for these domains hosted on the same server and IP address?

thanks

Tim

That's what is in your DNS.

Not quite sure what you mean, but each domain you want to
protect needs its own SPF record.

If you read carefully you'll probably see that the first one refers to
the SPF type record and the second refers to the TXT type record.
Almost nobody supports the SPF type yet.

Did you still have a question? I said that "each domain you
want to protect needs its own SPF record," and you said it did. Using
an IP address in each SPF record saves others a lookup of the A record,
but that doesn't mean it's necessarily "better." Using an IP address
means you have to update the SPF record if a site moves to a different
IP.

RE: No SPF record found? [In reply to]

Yes, I did still have a question.

- All the email domains I host have the save SPF record as I stated.
- The IP address for all the email domains I host is the same as I also
stated.

The question was, is the SPF record I have for each domain the best way I
could have it? Or, is there something more efficient?

I have been receiving and reading all these emails for years now. I realize
that the communication is free. However, I see most of the time the person
asking the questions leaves in frustration still scratching is head. I also
have tried the free tools. The tools while cool are not intuitive and the
output is not clear and does not say a whole lot. If they did, there would
not be so "many" people asking the "same" questions here.

thanks

Steve already answered that, and has posted the details of the FAQ
(which includes details of the record format):

} Using
} an IP address in each SPF record saves others a lookup of the A record,
} but that doesn't mean it's necessarily "better." Using an IP address
} means you have to update the SPF record if a site moves to a different
} IP.
