This is what I set up yesterday when I attempted to set up a SPF record with as follows http://www.findyourtraffic.com/739086/traleo.info This message is an automatic response from Port25's authentication verifier service at verifier.port25.com. The service allows email senders to perform a simple check of various sender authentication mechanisms. It is provided free of charge, in the hope that it is useful to the email community. While it is not officially supported, we welcome any feedback you may have at <verifier-feedback [at] port25>. "fail" the message failed the authentication test. "softfail" the message failed the authentication test, and the authentication method has either an explicit or implicit policy which doesn't require successful authentication of all messages from that domain. "neutral" the authentication method completed without errors, but was unable to reach either a positive or a negative result about the message. "temperror" a temporary (recoverable) error occurred attempting to authenticate the sender; either the process couldn't be completed locally, or there was a temporary failure retrieving data required for the authentication. A later retry may produce a more final result. "permerror" a permanent (unrecoverable) error occurred attempting to authenticate the sender; either the process couldn't be completed locally, or there was a permanent failure retrieving data required for the authentication. ========================================================== Original Email ========================================================== Return-Path: <traleo34 [at] gmail> Received: from ag-out-0708.google.com (72.14.246.250) by verifier.port25.com (PowerMTA(TM) v3.5r1) id hahf4e0hse84 for <check-auth [at] verifier>; Sat, 14 Jun 2008 20:11:51 -0400 (envelope-from <traleo34 [at] gmail>) Authentication-Results: verifier.port25.com smtp.mail=traleo34 [at] gmail; mfrom=pass; Authentication-Results: verifier.port25.com header.From=traleo34 [at] gmail; domainkeys=pass; Authentication-Results: verifier.port25.com header.From=traleo34 [at] gmail; dkim=fail (wrong body hash: expected frcCV1k9oG9oKj3dpUqdJg1PxRT2RSN/XKdLCPjaYaY=); Authentication-Results: verifier.port25.com header.From=traleo34 [at] gmail; pra=pass; Received: by ag-out-0708.google.com with SMTP id 5so7804256agb.6 for <check-auth [at] verifier>; Sat, 14 Jun 2008 17:13:58 -0700 (PDT) DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=gmail.com; s=gamma; h=domainkey-signature:received:received:date:reply-to:organization :user-agent:mime-version:to:subject:content-type :content-transfer-encoding:from:message-id; bh=47DEQpj8HBSa+/TImW+5JCeuQeRkm5NMpJWZG3hSuFU=; b=iYvS6L8/s8cZOBfMcMUX/bqyj3ogcUQGQFhziAbXxTP8Arnjdd2Cn6dC5OsQuxA9dM Dfbp8PIJenq4x2Cd+Cql+Qan6ulG4Bd7Ewu5la7nchxLXkfVjtbD4e2Dhx3YXzH2wfSf GMYzQoAvORDj2xzLTfTVXl172jffWLoc8w6jo= DomainKey-Signature: a=rsa-sha1; c=nofws; d=gmail.com; s=gamma; h=date:reply-to:organization:user-agent:mime-version:to:subject :content-type:content-transfer-encoding:from:message-id; b=YcxUH1Skw21zm1+8jxIZakrVxeopZZubRc4AlOdgdcmchiDgCZ+9a0sUbrjnT3nmXw fZZ/Q2QZ59Yn9dPloaRFoEHrSkPWoHZiboNIr2o4pmQnfn5p7DEmy4YytF4bDHr98U80 ijGCevp1OxUEhGPAc0wWkIcXZaxwqx8rEKQUw= Received: by 10.70.54.19 with SMTP id c19mr5341817wxa.2.1213488838318; Sat, 14 Jun 2008 17:13:58 -0700 (PDT) Return-Path: <traleo34 [at] gmail> Received: from ?192.168.1.64? Since so many emails that were sent out bounced back (DNS) I can't even respond to clients that have emailed me. Do I set up a SPF record thouugh my business website out through my gmail and yahoo account? You can only set up an SPF record if you own the domain ;) Exactly what error message were you getting? -- Please keep list traffic on the list.
