Q: do I need to recompile quagga after recompiling kernel?

Hi,
I am new to quagga, so it might be a shilly question.
But do I have to recompile quagga when I recompile the kernel?
I am running quagga 0.99.15 (from ports) on FreeBSD 8.0-RC1, and
trying to update the kernel to 8.0-RC2.
After recompile and install the new kernel, I rebooted, then, quagga
won't run saying "Abort 6".
I appreciate comments/suggestions!
