Hi,

The SPF next-hop calculation for a certain edge case got changed recently:

The commit comment doesn't give any rationale, except for an appeal to
authority. Indeed, the comment suggests the author isn't sure either way,
but is removing the check for perceived performance reasons.

I'm wondering if the problem could be explain in detail? And what testing
has been done? (As the removed comment said, things are non-trivial
there).
