adding a protocol to quagga

Hi,
I'm an engineer i want to find a routing protocol to add to the quagga suite i can't make my mind on which one to choose i thought about adding an ad-hoc protocol but i saw that BABEL is covering that area .Any suggestion with explantion would be of a great help, there is an exemple with implementing the FRINGE ROUTING PROTOCOL to qaugga if there is any new protocol provided with algorithm i would like to make an atempt to implement it to quagga .Thank you
