Still having problems with Linux....

This is my problem....
When I do the little test that they describe in the INSTALL file:
env - PATH="/var/qmail/bin:$PATH" qmail-start splogger qmail &
% echo to: root | /var/qmail/bin/qmail-inject
It just get stuck there... :( And I have to press ctrl+C to exit...
Why isn't it working? Have I done somethinbg wrong??
