tcpserver ipv6 patches broken dns lookups
|
|
I'm experimenting with IPv6 mail. There's a widely used set of IPv6 patches at http://www.fefe.de/ucspi/ They mostly work, but the IPv6 rDNS lookups don't. I looked at the code, which looks like it's supposed to work so my first guess, considering how low-level the DNS code is, is that it's a 32/64 bit problem since I'm running on an amd64 box. Is this a known problem? The web site says "There are quite a few servers using tcpserver out there. If they try to parse the IP addresses, they are not IPv6 ready and need to be touched." I have no idea what that means. Regards, John Levine, johnl [at] iecc, Primary Perpetrator of "The Internet for Dummies", Please consider the environment before reading this e-mail. http://jl.ly
