avoid respond to spam

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a way to avoid respond to spam. I mean, If qmail is allways
responding spam it's consuming resources for nothing.

I would apreciate your help on this matter.

thanks

toni

RE: avoid respond to spam [In reply to]

Your best bet is to install a recipient checking patch to qmail. This will significantly reduce the number of bounces qmail processes since invalid recipients will be blocked before they reach your queue.

Another suggested patch is the doublebounce patch which will remove bouncing bounces from your queue.

Hi,

You might want to have a look at... qpsmtpd (http://smtpd.develooper.com/)

This is a perl smtpd server with a bunch of plugins for basic
anti-spam defence and also allow integration with spamassassin and
clamav. The documentation is a bit patchy but once you get your head
around it it works well. Integrates without problem with qmail.
