surveying for support for qmail+vmailmgr in dovecot

Hello folks,
For those users that may be interested in having dovecot to work with
qmail+vmailmgr:
By internal design, dovecot does not support mailbox paths that
include ":", used by
VMailMgr for storing user names with ".". When the authentication module
returns "/domain.com/name:surname", dovecot accesses "/domain.com/name".
I used to supply some patches in the past for working this around; I
won't maintain
those anymore. Instead, I supplied a "final" solution portable across
releases, that
does not address the colon issue. See

The dovecot people shall decide whether to internally address this
problem or not
based on how interesting it is among users.
