Connect to test a secure pop server.

Hello all,
I have a qmail server that uses courier-pop with ssl. I used to test
my pop server using telnet something like...
$>telnet mail.clearimageonline.com 110
Is there an equivalent syntax for doing this using ssh? Something like
ssh mail.clearimageonline.com 995
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
