Long Mail - How to Release work Based on qmail & other packages

Would anybody be interested in a GPL package which combines qmail with
other packages like courier-imap for IMAP/POP3, bogofilter for SPAM
control, fetchmail for hosts with intermittent connectivity, ability for
a single domain to have users across multiple hosts (even across
different geographical locations) and tools to manage virtual domains.
Ability to mix servers running proprietary solutions like MX Exchange,
Lotus Notes, along with qmail using a single domain (without migrating
existing users)?

I have been working on this as a hobby since 2001. It works for me and I
call it IndiMail
http://indimail.blogspot.com/2008/06/what-is-indimail.html

I have recently packaged it and with the help of few steps the
installation is a breeze for me
http://indimail.blogspot.com/2008/06/installing-indimail.html

I have also opened a sourceforge project (with no files - still figuring
out how to release a project) at http://indimail.sourceforge.net

The package also includes mess822, qmailanalog, serialmail which is not
yet Open Source (IMHO) - http://cr.yp.to/distributors.html

So I have two things which are confusing me

1. How to use sourceforge (is there any sourceforge for dummies or
equivalent). How easy or difficult is it to use sourceforge (I have
reasonable computer and C programming skills).
2. Is there any chance that mess822, qmailanalog, serialmail will also
be released to Public Domain? If not, I will have to think of
removing these and then figuring out what gets impacted and this
could take time.

You could always send him an email and ask.

I use it for a few of my projects, and it's pretty straightforward
once you have the basic operations down. I learned it the "hard" way,
by reading their onsite documentation, and that really wasn't too
difficult (imho).

The person to ask about this is DJB---while the rest of us may have
opinions and/or theories about the matter, that is all they are. The
way to ask is via the qmaildist list.

Actually, in his video announcement, dated Nov 29th 2007, he clearly
states "i have decided to put all of my future and, going through the
things i done in the past, past software into the public domain". That
doesn't leave much doubt about his intents.

Once again the link to the video,

True, but to be fair, there is a legal difference between intending to
do something and actually doing it. For example, you can videotape
yourself saying "I have decided to file my taxes", but the IRS won't
accept that videotape as proof that you actually did file them.

Anyway, even if he'd said something like "I hereby release all my
previously released software into the public domain", I can still
understand someone wanting it in writing, just to be sure.

Thanks. Appreciate the trouble you took. I will ask DJB to be sure
anyway. In the meanwhile I have figured out how to use the sourceforge
wiki. Just putting the documents there

I see your point, but this is the same DJB that fought the federal gov
for protection of strong freely distributable encryption. I cant see
him going back on what he said about making it public domain. I am no
lawyer but I think he would need to be the one to enforce his copyright.
