Address containing a dot

Hi there:

I was looking around for this: I want an alias like
this: /var/qmail/alias/.qmail-virtualdomain-user.ext
This doesn't work for me.
All the documentation I've read uses addresses "extensions" in the
form: /var/qmail/alias/.qmail-virtualdomain-user-ext, but I would like
to know if the first alias is syntax valid and I'm missing something.

Must I use rewrite for this?.

You mean like john.doe[at]mydomain.com ?

Use ":" in the respective file names like .qmail-john:doe

Yes, it's valid, and yes, you're missing something.

Wow!, thank you man, I read something about colons at dot-qmail man, but
it doesn't mentioned anything about the correct syntax, so, thanks
again :)
