queue longevity

This is probably a stupid question but here goes ..

How do I increase the length of time that messages can stay in the queue
before qmail gives up? The default is 3 days, right?

The use case is that I have a 24/7 server receiving email and forwarding
it to a branch office server which is only switched on during the day.
Three days should be enough, but I don't want to start rejecting email
if the branch office is disconnected for 4 days (this is India and
strange things happen). A 15 day queue is probably enough though.

I suppose I could use serialmail (or fetchmail) to copy the mail but
then I'd need to poll the server from the branch office every 5 minutes
or so (true?).

Is there some other solution I haven't considered?

Thanks.

Define it here /var/qmail/control/queuelifetime in secs

It is 604800 seconds. You can change it in control/queuelifetime file.
