On 2006-10-13, in the docs.python.org version of '4
Custom Installation' of 'Installing Python Modules' (
http://docs.python.org/inst/search-path.html) I see:
python setup.py --install-base=/tmp
It seems to me that that may be missing the mention of
a command -- presumably 'install'.
