not able to start nova-compute "Instance could not be found"

not able to start nova-compute "Instance could not be found"

Essex on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS.

I am not able to start nova-compute service.

# start nova-compute
nova-compute start/running, process 2262

# status nova-compute
nova-compute stop/waiting


In the log i see bellow. "Instance instance-00000009 could not be found".

Hi :-)
Did you use to have that instance and destroyed it - lost it while it is
still logged into the database ?
does $ nova list works, if so use it to retrieve the compute node used
for it and check /var/lib/nova/instances, or connect to the node, and
isue :
$ virsh list --all
