ssh problem. Looking for advice/help

Hello,
I am a new list subscriber and am having an issue in which I attempt
to ssh from a machien running CentOS 5 ( 2.6.18-128.el5 #1 SMP Wed Jan
21 10:44:23 EST 2009 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux ).
The following ssh related packages are installed

I am working with a device from Arris ( www.arrisi.com) called a C4. I
have created multiple perl scripts that create an ssh connection to
the C4, run some commands and then place all the returned data into a
database. This was all working perfectly until last friday when
suddenly I was seemingly no longer getting data back and inserted into
the database. I have done all of the troubleshooting I know how to do
and the perl scripts work fine from another machine. I am unable to
even create an ssh connection to the C4 from this particular machine.
Please find below the output of ssh -vvv user [at] hos and ssh -
oControlMaster=auto -vvv user [at] host The -oControlMaster=auto option
was something I tried as I was having a similar problem communicating
with the device from a MacOS X machine and this fixed the issue.
Note: Since this is a machine with a public IP address, I have changed
the ip address information.

The only information I have been able to find on the internet
regarding the error I seem to get d"ebug3: channel 0: close_fds r 4 w
5 e 6 c -1" is that it could be a bad cable or NIC on the linux box. I
would think though that if this were the case I would have larger
problems with that box than just ssh not working to a single device. I
want to reiterate that I am able to ssh to the Arris C4 from other
machines on the network, and I am able to ssh from the machine I am
having a problem with to other devices on the network without an issue.
Any help, ideas, or fixes <grin> appreciated,
