Question on Google's Safe Browsing in ntop active sessions

Dear all,

When I click on the Active Connections tab for a certain host in ntop, I
am surprised that I only see connections from this host going to:
safebrowsing-cache.google.com.

I use Chrome and I know that every time you click on a web page Chrome
uses the safe browsing service to check if that site is a potentially
dangerous, but what I do not understand is why am I not seeing also a
separate connection with the real webpage ? Is Google's Safe Browsing
actually proxying all the connections ?

Thanks a lot

Daniel

PS: In my setup ntop is configured as a collector of Netflow records
sent by my home router
