nTop Errors

Greetings,

I've recently installed nTop on a CentOS5 system. While everything
seems to have compiled fine, I am getting errors such as the following:

Mon 03 Mar 2008 04:45:10 PM CST **ERROR** [0] 'rrd_create'
Mon 03 Mar 2008 04:45:10 PM CST **ERROR** [1] '/usr/local/var/ntop/rrd/interfaces/eth2/IP_VoIPBytes.rrd'
Mon 03 Mar 2008 04:45:10 PM CST **ERROR** [2] '--start'
Mon 03 Mar 2008 04:45:10 PM CST **ERROR** [3] '1204584309'
Mon 03 Mar 2008 04:45:10 PM CST **ERROR** [4] '--step'
Mon 03 Mar 2008 04:45:10 PM CST **ERROR** [5] '300'
Mon 03 Mar 2008 04:45:10 PM CST **ERROR** [6] 'DS:counter:DERIVE:900:0:125000000'
Mon 03 Mar 2008 04:45:10 PM CST **ERROR** [7] 'RRA:AVERAGE:0.5:1:864'
Mon 03 Mar 2008 04:45:10 PM CST **ERROR** [8] 'RRA:MIN:0.5:1:72'
Mon 03 Mar 2008 04:45:10 PM CST **ERROR** [9] 'RRA:MAX:0.5:1:72'
Mon 03 Mar 2008 04:45:10 PM CST **ERROR** [10] 'RRA:AVERAGE:0.5:12:2160'
Mon 03 Mar 2008 04:45:10 PM CST **ERROR** [11] 'RRA:AVERAGE:0.5:288:1080'
Mon 03 Mar 2008 04:45:10 PM CST **ERROR** [12] 'RRA:HWPREDICT:1440:0.1:0.0035:20'

What is the cause of these errors? I can't seem to figure it out.

Thank you.

Tica
can you please update your ntop using svn's code and report me if the
problems are gone by now?

Thanks Luca

Re: Ntop errors [In reply to]

Hello Luca,
Thanks for your reply... :)

I've just installed ntop to svn version... Both problems gone!!! :) ... but
another problem appeared: Ntop stop working after a few seconds, with this
error:

event.c:378: event_process_active: Assertion `activeq != ((void *)0)'
failed.

Any clues?

Thanks in advance! :)

Re: Ntop errors [In reply to]

Tica
I have used libevent 1.4.9 and everything worked on my setup/ What
libevent version are you using? If still not working I need a detailed
list of actions for reproducing the problem

Thanks Luca

Re: ntop errors [In reply to]

Ah,
A closer look shows that some graphs are cumulative, at least for the last day - even though the known hosts was not. The others have a gap from where ntop was sick, till I restarted it. All of the ones on the global traffic statistics page are 1-day it appears.
(how to get longer history? All attempts from the rrd special graphs page give errors: unknown rrd.)
