install from sources

I'm trying to install ntop from sources because i've got a lot of problems with
debian packages.
But i've got also some problems :

each time i launch autogen i've got a message about missing package.
the last i've got is about geoip.

does somebody could told me what package install on a debian lenny to install
ntop from sources after ?

thanks

Re: install from sources [In reply to]

Perhaps try to install GeoIP first? Ntop should install it for you, but the script might be broken. If you have the skills (and desire) you could go through the output files of autogen and see if you can find and fix the issue?

Re: install from sources [In reply to]

if you did a checkout from svn, check if you have installed the
development package for python (python2.6-dev). In case you don't have,
install it and re-run autoge.sh

Re: install from sources [In reply to]

Hello
>>> I'm trying to install ntop from sources because i've got a lot of
>>> problems with
>>> debian packages.
Then i'm using ntop v.3.4-pre2 (32 bit) installed from sources.
Everything worked fine, but after some time ntop segfault again

i launch it like that "/usr/local/bin/ntop -u ntop -K"
i thought the "K" option gave me some information but i've got only this error
message with dmesg :
[671256.012006] ntop[4392]: segfault at 534 ip b7db545a sp af95a8b0 error 4 in
libntop-3.4-pre2.so[b7d95000+58000]

wich version is usable without problems ?

thanks
