Installationproblems CentOS5.2

I tried to install ntop-3.4-RC1 on centos 5.4.
At the end of ./autogen.sh there is an error:
**Testing Optional libraries and headers**
checking for Multithreading... ok
checking for openSSL... ok
checking for zlib... ok
checking for python-config... no
Python-devel support is not present
But both python and python-devel are installed.
Any ideas?
