NTOP and Fedora 11

All I'm a noobie to NTOP and have a stupid question that I hope someone can help me with. I have ntop installed on Fedora 11 using the fedora rpm install version 3.3.9 .

I have data flowing from a netflow device to ntop and I see in the log on ntop the data along with I can see data in the netflow stats. But when I go to any of the drop downs like summary - host I don't have any data there.

Anyone have any hints or suggestions of what I have messed up?

Re: NTOP and Fedora 11 [In reply to]

Bob,

I have the same problem even with a version of ntop from SVN. I sent
Luca a PCAP nearly a month ago and haven't heard much -- he must be
busy.

You may want to make sure that you've switched your Interface to the
Netflow device, however this didn't help me.

Re: NTOP and Fedora 11 [In reply to]

Is Fedora kinda sorta close to RedHat? I have some issues on RedHat,
but as far as basic NetFlow working no issues.

Send me (post / whatever) your CLI args and prefsCache.db and I'll load
up another instance and see what happens. That will tell me if it's the
code , OS, or configs. Actually, what port Is netflow listening on? I
don't want to break my stuff in the process.

Re: NTOP and Fedora 11 [In reply to]

And Yes, make SURE you actually select the nTop virtual interface "Admin
-> Switch Nic -> Radio Button -> Switch NIC". Just following an install
there seems to be some issue with this, like the default report
interface / nic is "null" until you actually select something,
ESPECIALLY if you're only using a netflow interface. Maybe also enable
your real interface and see if nTop reports correctly on it?

Re: NTOP and Fedora 11 [In reply to]

Gary,

switching the nic worked. For what ever reason the nic was set to the device but when I hit switch nic data showed up.

Thanks to everyone that posted.
