ntop for Win32

Hello,

I'm using the ntop for win v.3.0.2 MT in a windows 2003 server with a
lot of traffic (or not?) (30GB per month) and the problem is that ntop
doesn't run more that 10 minutes. I tried different options to start
ntop but doesn't improve the performance. Like the majority of traffic
that see this server is remote the first option that I tried was -g in
order to track local traffic.

Below you can see the command line used tu run ntop and the result:

_____________________________________________________________________
C:\Archivos de programa\ntop-Win32>ntop /c -b -g -w 2990 -z

05/26/04 18:41:35 THREADMGMT: Started thread (1768) for network packet
sniffing

05/26/04 18:41:35 THREADMGMT: pcap (Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet
Driver)
dispatch thread running...
05/26/04 18:49:21 **WARNING** packet truncated (29254->8232)
________________________________________________________________________
C:\Archivos de programa\ntop-Win32>ntop /c -b -o -w 2990 -z

thanks

Re: ntop for Win32 [In reply to]

Josep,
- consider specifying with -m the list of local networks.
- for Win2003 you need the latest libpcap 3.1 (beta) (see
http://winpcap.polito.it)
- is it a performance/memory problem or a crash?
- did you try ntop 3.0.3?

Cheers, Luca
