Sniffing in layer 3

Hi all!
I wanna use ntop in my application to get traffic
information, but I've got some problems. One of them
is that ntop in my machines DOESN'T SNIFF ALL LAYER 3
PROTOCOLS. When running ntop with "ntop -d -P... -p...
-m... -w... -n" there is nothing captured. When
viewing traffic statistics, there is only one packet
shown. When running ntop with "ip" option it can
capture data, but only IP packets. ntop can analyze
offline traffic and detect all layer 3 protocols. I
have tested both 2105 and 2.0 beta versions on Redhat
7.0/1 Linux. By the way, tcpdump and Ksnuffle is fine.

To solve this problem I wrote some scripts to run ntop
in offline mode periodically on a file being written
by tcpdump, but in this case I face some other
problems. I wonder to know if it is cleaner ways to do
it.

--Houman.
