10ge wan phy with stm-64

Hi

Can anyone please confirm if below connectivity would work with 10ge wan
phy router port at one side while other end router with stm-64 port?

rtr[10ge.wan.phy] --- sdh[stm64] --- dwdm.ring --- sdh[stm64] --- rtr[stm64]

No this won't work.

WAN-PHY doesn't magically turn Ethernet into Sonet/SDH, it just changes
the bit rate, and sets enough of the framing to get through most
transport equipment.

Both ends need to be the same, LAN PHY, WAN PHY, or actual SONET/SDH.

Layer 2 protocols must be consistent across a circuit,
particularly if the circuit is raw.

You can have mismatched Layer 2 (attachment) circuits for
l2vpn scenarios, but this affects the Layer 3 component, and
is only applicable to such scenarios as the circuit isn't
raw (VPN).
