Long 10G range optics in TurboIron 24X ?

The following suggests that the TI24X will not accept long range 10G-SFPP-ER 10G SFP+ modules. ER should reach 40km, presumably, but also want 80km options. Can anyone confirm that they will not work? Any alternatives available besides external media converters?

Failing that, any suggestions for something similar to the TI24X for ~24port 10GigE in 1 RU form factor?

Thanks

Brocade doesn't sell them so they won't list it on the specs sheet.
I use 3rd-party 10G-ER SFP+ optics in 8x10G modules in MLX and MLXe
chassis (a few per module, the rest is LR) and they work just fine.

Great, and thank others for their feedback. You mention above the MLX series, do you have firsthand experience with those modules in the TurboIron 24X?

Thanks again!

We use the same Smartoptics SFP+ DWDM 80KM ZR modules in Turboirons, MLX(e) and XMR without any problems :-)

Which actually cheat a bit and report back to the chassis as an ER module, since apparently there's no SFP+ ZR standard yet.

The 10 GbE ER 40km SFP+ (10G-SFPP-ER) is qualified for TI-24X in FastIron
software release 7.3. We are currently investigating a ZR 80km optic for
the TI, but don't have an ETA on availability yet.

That all being said as Niels pointed out, we don't use vendor locking
so there are 3rd party choices on the market that will work just fine.
I would not recommend an external media converter because it's just clunky
and unnecessary.

I've sent in a request to have the optics data sheet corrected, sorry
about that.
