software images for CER RT range: only "base"?

Hi,

For a project I am looking at the CER range, in particular the RT ones. They are supposed to be "better" dan the non-RT ones (more tcam etc). The pricelist shows them as having only the "BASE" license, with no option to buy them with the advanced license. Do the RT's have every feature of advanced license on the non-rt ones? (eg mpls)? Or do you still need an upgrade to benefit from MPLS on them?

Yes, you need to upgrade the RTs to advanced license to enable the MPLS features, in particular VPLS. I can't exactly remember what all it brings, but we need to for VPLS capability.

I would get the -RT if doing BGP peering with full feeds. Its claim
to fame is 1 million routes in FIB as far as I am concerned. If you
are doing full feeds, particularly dual-stacked IPv4/IPv6 then yeah,
the RT is where I would go. For internal use or only partial routes,
probably not.

You'll need to buy the base model and add the advanced/premium software license.
