Is it possible to recover a board in this state....

Have at least 2 MSM's in our lab with the following error scrolling on
the console:
CRITICAL ERROR: Backplane EEPROM has invalid MAC Address. System halted.
CRITICAL ERROR: Backplane EEPROM has invalid MAC Address. System halted.
CRITICAL ERROR: Backplane EEPROM has invalid MAC Address. System halted.
CRITICAL ERROR: Backplane EEPROM has invalid MAC Address. System halted.
CRITICAL ERROR: Backplane EEPROM has invalid MAC Address. System halted.
CRITICAL ERROR: Backplane EEPROM has invalid MAC Address. System halted.
CRITICAL ERROR: Backplane EEPROM has invalid MAC Address. System halted.
CRITICAL ERROR: Backplane EEPROM has invalid MAC Address. System halted.
CRITICAL ERROR: Backplane EEPROM has invalid MAC Address. System halted.
Note: No, they're not under maintenance.
