FW Generic Failure

Mon Nov 19 12:56:46 EET [esh.bypass.host.port:CRITICAL]: replayed event:
[IN] port on channels 0b/UNUSED shelf id 2 ESH B Bypassed due to FW generic
fault

Does any understand the above message is was found on a FAS270, an the
aggregate on this volumes status is online, raid-dp, redirect.

I suspect that it is the FAS270 controller and not the ESH Module, because
when changing the modules the error remains.

All LED on front and back are green.

RE: FW Generic Failure [In reply to]

Did you update the firmware to v34? If not you may want to do so as soon
as you get an outage window, this is similar to the error we got before
the filer crashed (the only software issue we've ever had with it).

RE: FW Generic Failure [In reply to]

Do you know when this started? Meaning was there any changes or adds to
the filer? I never seen anything like this.

James

Re: FW Generic Failure [In reply to]

This error message is caused because the ESH Module of the FAS270 is UNUSED -
Sometimes error messages seem more serious than what they are.

Thanks for the support.
