Replaced Drive still shows red LED

I replaced a failed drive yesterday. However, the drive light still shows red, even though the filer thinks that the disk is there and is a spare.
Is this a common problem?
I am running OS 6.1R1, and the LCD is displaying the ops/sec as usual.
