Hot add loop

Hot add loop

I need to hot-add a loop with 4 shelves in the new loop. Does it matter
if:

1) I cable up all the shelves first and then plug into the filer,
activate the loop

OR

2) Plug 1 shelf into the filer, activate the loop then plug in the
rest of the shelves one at a time.
