TWO CONSECUTIVE ATTACKS ON THE SAME PORT

Addressing the information message in the nessusd.message file

Two consecutive attacks on the same port. Sleeping for 1 second.

I understand from reading previous messages pertaining to this issue that,
basically, nessusd runs the exploit and if there is a exploit already
running, to save identd from having more then 10 connections, it hold for a
second then goes onto the next test. My question is does one just build a
knowledge base of that particular host and over time enabling you to run all
tests?

Sorry if this is worded poorly. Thanks for any help

Re: TWO CONSECUTIVE ATTACKS ON THE SAME PORT [In reply to]

I think you're mistaken in how Nessus operates. Nessus does not
skip the test. Nessus pauses, then runs the test. All tests will
be run against the particular host if appropriate. Timing
in terms of multiple connections to the same port in a short
time period only affects how long nessus takes to run the tests,
not the execution of the tests themselves.
