links.sh problem with local timeformat settings?

I have a weird problem with the links.sh script from the contrib folder.
It looks to like my locale settings are messing up the script with wrong
date/time format strings being returned from mysql query.
Any perl wizzards out there now how I can change this ? (or even what
system setting is being used here?)
This is what I get :
Done RM
Skipping /mnt/store/tv/1002_2004-10-18 20:00:00_2004-10-18 21:00:00.nuv
This is the corresponding filename it should find :
/mnt/store/1002_20041018200000_20041018210000.nuv
Anyone?
