LiveTV issues (root caused to cable signals)

I was debugging LiveTV issues yesterday and discovered that my cable signal
was marginal. When I removed a splitter and changed the coax cable, the
signal was better and my LiveTV issues went again. LiveTV was working well
for a few weeks, then over the last weekend, I suddenly started having
issues, nothing changed with mythtv setup which was running 0.25/fixes. I
wanted to post this since others with marginal cable signals might have
issues with LiveTV with mythtv. My setup uses HDHR3 Prime with a cablecard.
I used the hdhomerun_config to determine my signal level.
[me [at] mytht libhdhomerun]$ ./hdhomerun_config 1313E021 get /tuner0/status

After re-cabling:
(notice the numbers jump)

ch=qam:759000000 lock=qam256 ss=76 snq=82 seq=100 bps=38809216 pps=994
