Downloading metadata resets my changes

Downloading metadata resets my changes

Hello all,

I have a video on my machine running MythTV 0.25.1 that I am trying to edit
so I can download the correct metadata for. I can make changes manually
and they are reflected in the frontend, the problem is when I tell it to
download the metadata the video gets reset to what it was before I edited
it.

Has anyone else had, or currently do have?

Try moving the videos to a temp dir..Then rescan,the rescan should purge
any reference to the metadata you currently have downloaded. You could
also remove the metadata (coverart,fanart) from the storage group...Then
move the video files back and rescan again..

I have to do this sometimes when I cannot enter restricted characters in
the file name (Windows share). Good example of this is Mission:
Impossible, which would not lookup unless I edited the title in the
frontend to include the colon. I had replaced it in it's filename with a
hypen.

I assume this is what Adam means anyway
