IPAD with Mythtv

I've inherited an Ipad and am wondering how I use it with Mythtv.

I should say in advance that I build my Linux backend and frontends off
of the trunk frequently, so because of the protocol changes no prebuilt
IOS frontend is going to be compatible.

So I guess the best I'm going to do is something like UPNP.

Any suggestions.

Re: IPAD with Mythtv [In reply to]

I use a combination of AirVideo (an iOS app & service) that I run on my MythBox. Then I use Mythlink.pl (http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Mythlink.pl) to create a directory space for AirVideo to read.

That allows me to stream all my recorded shows to my iPad and iPhone. It doesn't skip commercials, but it's still nice to have.

Discovered 8player upnp app the other day, coupled with a one of the
transcode scripts to get HD tv working better (SD works) it's great.

I use MythicalLibrarian to create symlinks with 'sane' names of the
recordings, then point Plex Media Server to that directory, and then use
Plex on the iPad to stream the recordings. It works pretty well. Now that
0.25 has some pretty neat MetaData support, there may be a nicer way to do
this, but I haven't looked into it yet.
