HTTP Live Streaming w/ IPAD

Hey guys...I just upgrade to .25 and have been doing some testing with .25
and the HLS. I am not sure what the issue is but i queue it up the video
plays for a a few minutes and then it just goes black and all i get is
audio. Is there something wrong on my config.

Thanks,
Mitchell

I watch stuff on an iPad without problems so it does work. What transcoding parameters (resolution, bitrate) are you using? Maybe they're too high for the device.

The other thing I notice is the HLS transcoder is very sensitive to glitches. Something that causes a second or two of macroblocking on regular playback will throw transcoded video for anything from a few seconds to the remainder of the recording. Yesterday I came across a good example of that and when I have a sec I'm going to set aside an extract for someone to look at.

You could try watching the same video on your regular frontend around the same spot as where the iPad video goes black and see if there are any hiccups. It doesn't take much to get the video to go off.

That's lower than what I use so I'd look at problem with the source program. A one second blip will typically get me like 20 seconds of black video (but perfect sound) and the other day a 1 second blip killed the rest of the transcode. The .ts files were all 0.
