Control Volumne outside TV/Music/Video

I'm using mythtv 0.24 with PVR350 in debian wheezy.
If I play music and "Exit - continue playing" to watch pictures I can not
control the volumne (F9/F10/F11) until enter TV or Music or Video again.
How to control volumne independent of running mythtv-module?
