You did not specify what exactly what the definition of
"ALWAYS fails" is, but have you tried it with the git master
(or the 0.25rc builds)? There are some fixes there for
transcoding and multiple audio tracks. See ticket
http://code.mythtv.org/trac/ticket/7118 as a starter.
If the problem still exists, you should follow the
instructions at http://code.mythtv.org/trac/wiki/TicketHowTo
and open a new ticket. Problems will not get
addressed without reports (and sufficient reproducers).
