Pvr250 wrong channels?

I picked up my PVR 250 over the weekend. Video
quality is outstanding compared to what I was getting
off the WinTV card I previously used.

I'm using the 2.4 series kernel with the CVS ivtv
drivers. The tuner type is set to 2. My channels are
not changing to the requested recording channel.
Originally I thought I was only off by 2 channels
butit appears that I'm capturing the same channel no
matter what Myth tells the card.

What am I missing?

Darrick

Not sure. Could be the wrong frequency table selected, but I think
typical behavior for that is all channels are off by one. Assuming
you're in the US and using cable TV, there are two different frequency
tables, us-cable and us-cable-hrc, so trying the other might be
worthwhile. Otherwise, I have no clue. :)

And look in /var/log/messages and /var/log/mythtv/mythbackend.log for
clues.

Check that. The myth log is in /var/log/mythtv/mythbackend.log (but
still look in /var/log/messages also).

I fixed this problem by dropping the mythconverg
database and rebuilding the database. I previously
had /dev/video0 tied to my bttv WinTV card. With the
PVR card now in place, I wanted the WinTV card as
video1 so it would only be used when appropriate (as a
second tuner). It appears that something was confused
and clearing the database completely worked.

/me happily recording video.

The next goal is to get 2.6 working, but it appears
that is probably on hold until the ivtv guys make more
progress on the driver.

Later,

Darrick

Actually, what device the cards grab doesn't determine what the first capture
card is. The order in which you enter them into your setup does. :)
