Audio from Winfast 2000 XP under 2.6.0-test11 kernel

The system on which I am running MythTV is
Shuttle SN41G2 (Nvidia Nforce2 chipset. Only one PCI slot)
Leadtek Winfast 2000 XP Deluxe video capture card

I am using the built-in Nforce2 audio and video. I have compiled a
2.6.0-test11 kernel after changing the kernel sources so the default
tuner for this card under bttv is 2 (NTSC) not 5 (PAL). The ALSA
audio module is snd-intel-8x0. I have OSS emulation support enabled
in the ALSA kernel configuration.

The only way I have been able to get sound from the Winfast card is by
physically connecting its `audio out' to the `mic in' on the computer. I
am still struggling to understand the intricacies of alsamixer and
alsamixergui. For live TV using tvtime or xawtv I can get mono sound
be setting the mic gain to be non-zero and enabling "mic as center
channel" (I'm not sure of the name and I can't check here but it is
the selection to the right of the mic gain in alsamixergui). Can
I get (synchronized) sound under MythTV from this 'mic in' arrangement
and, if so, how to I set up the alsamixer?

I have not been able to get sound output from the Winfast board into
ALSA without going through the mic input. Can that be done and, if
so, how? Do I need to have the tvaudio kernel module loaded?

A related, slightly off-topic, question is how to get radio output
from that card. I installed xmms-radio and can tune the radio
stations but I don't get any sound. A scan of radio stations detects
signals at the frequencies where I expect them to be.

I also tried installing the flameeyes patch for lirc but that patch
resulted in compilation errors. Should I try the jeff patch at
http://www.clarkmania.com/~jclark/ instead? I would like to get the
remote control working with MythTV.

Thanks in advance for any help.
