Optimizing Livetv for AMD?

Hi all,
i have the GM890 Pro3 Mainboard (Containing a ATI HD 4290)
http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=890GM%20Pro3&cat=Specific
ations
As TV card i'm using a TEVII S470
I've did the folowing guide:
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/linux-desktop-74/amd-hd-serie
s-graphics-guide-optimizing-video-playback-for-mythtv-mplayer-and-oth
ers-786335/

But if i use this:
* Decoder leave at Standard.
* Video Renderer Set to: OpenGL
* OSD Renderer Set to: OpenGL2
* Next Screen (Deinterlacers)
o Primary Deinterlacer Set to: Bob(2x,HW)
o Fallback Deinterlacer Set to: Linear Blend(HW)
CPU Goes up to 80%

And if i use this:
* Decoder change to VIA XvMC
* Next Screen (Deinterlacers)
o Primary Deinterlacer set to One Field
o Fallback Deinterlacer set to One Field
I always get the message
2010-06-13 12:16:14.071 VideoOutputXv: Desired video renderer 'xvmc-blit' not available.
codec 'H264' makes 'xv-blit,xshm,xlib,' available, using 'xv-blit' instead.
2010-06-13 12:16:14.071 VideoOutputXv: Desired video renderer 'xvmc-blit' not available.
codec 'MPEG2' makes 'xv-blit,xshm,xlib,' available, using 'xv-blit' instead.

Anybody can help me according this?

Kind Regards
/Seppl

$20 your joking right?! Or is that your by the minute rate? In that
case it's only 2/3 times my usual rate. But I'm willing to do it. It's
going to take a lot of minutes though. I'm sure Michael et al will
chime in, or maybe bite their tongues for a little while till they
explain how that isn't at all an appropriate amount. But good luck!

On a more serious note, there are plenty of half hight nvidia pdpau
capable cards out there, just Google for 30 seconds and your trip over
loads, Google for another 60 seconds or so and you'll find some to buy
with next day delivery in most countries.

Send me a machine with an intel GPU supporting VAAPI, like those tiny
dell box, and I'll do it for free, or you can still donate to the
mythtv project if you still wish to do so.

VIA XvMC is not applicable to your motherboard. You have an AMD processor and an
ATI video chipset. VIA XvMC is specifically for VIA chipsets such as is found on
some older Mini-ITX motherboards (amongst others).

While you *can* probably get your Radeon video card to work with varying levels
of user satisfaction, getting an NVidia VDPAU-capable card as suggested by
another responder is the best way (currently) of getting satisfactory display
results.

Next time, check the wiki before spending on a motherboard.

Re: Optimizing Livetv for AMD? [In reply to]

Hi Jean-Yves,

i've read you're mail but found out that it is easy for you to get a test environment. Just use your current card (which is assume that is an NVIDA) and install this package.
Then install the VDPAU Backend for VAAPI.

http://www.splitted-desktop.com/~gbeauchesne/

Voila you've got VAAPI vor your NVIDIA.

Actually, VAAPI support is on my to-do list. I have appropriate hardware,
and am maybe a week away from starting on it. If Jean-Yves wishes to work
on it instead, he is welcome to it, but I have a vested interest in getting
this working, and already have a GMA500 box to work with.

Now, other VAAPI backends... I will need to get sample hardware (or sample
users at least) for to test it thoroughly, of course. Any donations/loans
of appropriate hardware would work for me. hehe.
